The V-Twin 22-0458 Kick Starter Conversion Kit in alloy finish includes a main shaft with an integral gear set and one-piece forged construction designed to match the OEM configuration. The kit also includes a kick start cover, kick gear assembly, and transmission main shaft with a natural finish. The kicker arm and rubber pedal feature a chrome finish.

The kicker cover is milled to allow use of the original exhaust bracket, while the kicker gear is mounted on the side of the pulley for convenient access. The electric starter is retained. This kit must be used with forward controls or requires relocation of the master cylinder.

Installation requires transmission disassembly to replace the mainshaft, and the motor case must be split for installation. Mechanical and technical expertise is required. The V-Twin 22-0458 kit fits 2007–2016 Harley-Davidson XL models.
