BEYOND comes in two types: The all-inclusive, carbon-fiber shell BEYOND GTS and the fiberglass BEYOND GT version, offering ANC as an optional add-on. Cardo Sound Labs (CSL), located in Straubing, Germany, is an innovative research and development center for high-end audio and sound solutions. For over 25 years, the CSL team has been developing software and hardware systems and pioneering solutions for a wide range of applications, from Maybach vehicles to consumer headphones with ANC technology. In 2022, Cardo Systems took over the team, equipment, and facility, integrating the CSL specialists into Cardo's global development network. The CARDO Beyond GTS Helmet 2X, part number SMHFXXB005, is a sport-touring helmet designed around safety, comfort, sound, connectivity, and practicality. Its carbon fiber composite shell is paired with a five-section multi-density EPS liner, emergency-release cheek pads, a titanium double D-ring fastener, and a helmet health monitoring system. The helmet is ECE R22.06 and DOT homologated and includes active safety features such as an active brake light and crash detection.

Sound and communication are integrated through Cardo Sound Labs technology, built-in 53mm speakers, a dedicated audio box, and active noise cancellation. The communication system includes 2nd generation DMC, a stated 2 km range, support for up to 31 riders, Public Mesh, remote grouping, natural voice operation, live Bluetooth intercom, and connection with other major brands. Front LED status indicators, a single-click interface, auto on/off, a customizable button, and over-the-air software updates support convenient operation.

The helmet features an intermediate oval head shape, six sizes, and four shell sizes. Its ventilation system includes a three-position RAM air active top vent, a three-position active front vent with defogging and face ventilation, and a passive exhaust vent integrated into the brake light. Additional comfort and visibility features include an integral drop-down sun visor, a 210-degree field of view, multilayer comfort and acoustic padding, and an antimicrobial, sweat-wicking, washable lining. A Pinlock 200 is included, while the detachable battery supports wireless charging. Serviceable components and upgradable technology complete the design.
