York Softail Rear Chain Drive Conversion Kit 19-0152

York Softail rear chain kit is for 5 speed models. Stock ratio is supplied with steel sprockets 22 tooth front and a 48 tooth rear.

The York Softail Rear Chain Drive Conversion Kit, SKU 19-0152, converts a 1987–2006 five-speed belt drive system to a heavy-duty 530 chain drive. It is designed for applications using a stock-size rear tire and includes a gold-type, rust-resistant 120-link drive chain with a master link and chain breaker.

The chain must be cut to the desired length for each application. Use a chain puller to bring the chain to length, then break it at the appropriate link. The existing pulley spacer behind the transmission 22-tooth sprocket must be used during installation.

Sprocket combinations provide different drive characteristics. With a 21-tooth front sprocket, a 48-tooth rear sprocket provides a 4% deeper ratio for faster acceleration, while 49- and 51-tooth rear sprockets provide 6.5% and 10.5% deeper ratios. With a 22-tooth front sprocket, a 48-tooth rear sprocket provides a 2.5-inch overdrive, a 49-tooth rear sprocket provides a 4% deeper ratio, and a 51-tooth rear sprocket provides a 6% deeper ratio. This kit fits listed 1987–1996 Harley-Davidson FXST applications.
