Mammut Free 22 Removable Airbag 3.0 Safari Avalanche Backpack, SKU 621-5023

The Mammut Free 22 Removable Airbag 3.0 Safari avalanche backpack combines a lightweight design with essential features for backcountry travel. Its dependable, long-lasting Airbag System 3.0 has a small packing volume, removable and transferable construction, compressed-gas energy storage, and a height-adjustable deployment handle. The airbag balloon uses a bright signal color, while orange elements throughout the pack help improve visibility from a distance.

Designed to keep the load close to your body, the carrying system is inspired by trail-running vests and features optimized hip and shoulder straps, stretch fabric, a thermoformed back, and high-density two-layer EVA padding. The main compartment can be accessed from the top or through a full rear zippered opening. A separate high-visibility orange front compartment keeps avalanche safety equipment organized, while the soft-lined goggle compartment, radio pocket, SOS label with emergency instructions, and hydration-system compatibility add practical utility.

The pack supports diagonal ski carrying, snowboard carrying, and splitboard mounting. Lateral compression straps, a daisy chain loop, two attachments for an ice ax and trekking poles, an integrated helmet carrier, and additional gear loops provide versatile carrying options. The backpack is PFC-free, and its outer fabric and lining are made from recycled material. This Mammut product is identified by SKU 621-5023 and part number 2610-02051-7459-1022.
