Keith Black dish piston set is .010 oversize with a 9.0:1 compression ratio for 1986-up XL Evolution models.

The Keith Black KB272.010 883cc Conversion Piston Set is designed for selected Harley-Davidson XL applications from 1986 through 1995. This set features a 3.5-inch bore, 9:1 compression, and hypereutectic alloy construction cast in a permanent steel mold. The piston design supports reduced weight, quiet operation, efficient fuel use, and extended service life.

The alloy's low heat transfer helps keep the piston skirts cooler and minimizes expansion. The set includes a Hastings Moly ring set and is intended for use with a 3.812-inch stroke and a dish head. For 2009-and-newer XL 883 applications, the existing cylinders cannot be overbored to 1200cc; separate 1200cc cylinders are required for use with this piston kit.

Keith Black KB272.010 pistons should be broken in at moderate speeds for at least 500 miles, avoiding excessive operation in lower gears, to properly seat the new pistons and rings. The manufacturer suggests using the #11-1364 80-inch Shovelhead Piston Ring Set .010. Fits 1986-1995 Harley-Davidson XL models.
