Accel A554 Unilite Breakerless Ignition System

Mallory unilite breakerless electronic ignition is a dual fire system.

The Accel A554 Unilite Breakerless Ignition System replaces points with an electronic E-Spark module featuring a photocoupler, signal processor, and power switch. The system uses an infrared shutter wheel to control ignition-coil energizing and discharge for electronic ignition operation.

Designed for street and highway use, the system requires a separately ordered mechanical advance and ignition coil. Accel recommends using a 3.0–4.0 ohm coil. Tech notes specify ordering mechanical advance part number 32-7510 and suggest use with 32-7793 or 32-8086 Dual Fire Coil. The Accel A554 fits 1984–1993 Harley-Davidson FXST models.
